Looking back on 2011: Welcome, Schippo!

2011 was another year in which 1899 Hoffenheim made headlines. There were two managerial changes, as well as reshuffles among the club's top officials and executives. On the pitch, the club ended the first half of the current campaign in 9th place in the table. But it was a memorable year for our players as well, who have been telling achtzehn99.de of their highlights. What stood out for striker Sven Schipplock was his very first training session with TSG.

Almost 2,000 fans made their way to the Dietmar-Hopp-Stadion for the club's opening training session, and the squad's preparation for its fourth season in the Bundesliga. It was also the perfect opportunity to catch a glimpse of the club's new signings. One of the new boys was forward Sven Schipplock, signed from VfB Stuttgart, and he remembers his first training session under manager Holger Stanislawski. “The first time you train at a new club with new team-mates is always special. The people have taken to me extremely well, we have a lot of fun and everyone is really focused for the season.
