Demba Ba opts to join West Ham United

The protracted transfer saga surrounding Demba Ba has finally come to an end. The Senegalese striker has endured a rollercoaster couple of months with the Kraichgau outfit and has decided to join English Premier League club West Ham United.

Ba has put pen to paper on a 3-and-a-half year deal that sees him join the East London club until June 2014. The transfer fee and contract offer will remain undisclosed. "We're happy that the chapter involving Demba Ba has reached it's conclusion. After a lot of toing and froing the outcome is perfect for both teams involved", explained manager Ernst Tanner. Ba joined 1899 Hoffenheim in the summer of 2007 and has played a major part in their Bundesliga success, creating at times a formidable partnership with Vedad Ibisevic. He has made 106 appearances scoring 40 goals in the process including 6 in 17 games this season. "I'm really happy that the clubs have reached an agreement. I was eager to join the club and meet my new team-mates. I'd like to thank Hoffenheim for allowing me to join this team", exclaimed Ba during a recent interview.
