1899 well represented on the international stage

Whether it's Euro 2012 qualifiers or just a friendly, there are several 1899 Hoffenheim players who have been invited to represent their countries in the end-of-season internationals. The following players will be in action as they aim to help their respective nations reach various targets:

Vedad Ibisevic and Sejad Salihovic have been called up as part of the Bosnia-Herzegovina squad in preparation for two Euro 2012 qualifiers. The first of which is against Romania (3rd June), closely followed by a match against Albania (7th June) four day later.

Jukka Raitala, who has returned to 1899 Hoffenheim after his loan spell with SC Paderborn, has been selected to represent Finland, who also have two Euro 2012 qualifiers to get ready for. They will initially travel to face San Marino (3rd), before flying to close to home to take on Scandinavian rivals Sweden (7th).

David Alaba will once again be part of the Austrian national side as they gear up to host their biggest rivals, Germany, in a Euro 2012 qualifier (3rd). This is their only qualifier during the end-of-season internationals, but they are also set to host Latvia in a friendly match (7th).

Isaac Vorsah, who has already played a key role in the campaign, will continue helping Ghana in their qualification pursuit for the African Cup of Nations as they travel to Accra to face DR Congo (3rd). A change of pace then sees them scheduled to take on South Korea, a top Asian side, in a friendly match (7th).

Edson Braafheid has reclaimed his spot in the Dutch national side and although they have no competitive matches scheduled he'll have a chance to impress in their two friendly matches. The first should be a world class encounter as they travel to take on Brazil in Goiania (4th), before continuing the South American trend by organising a match with Uruguay in Montevideo (8th).

Sebastian Rudy and Peniel Mlapa are both part of the German U-21 squad whose only match will be friendly against Portugal (31st May).

1899 veteran Josip Simunic could make an appearance for Croatia as they continue their Euro 2012 qualification campaign against Georgia (3rd).

Recently crowned 1899 Hoffenheim Player of the Season 2010/11, Gylfi Sigurdsson will represent Iceland in the Euro 2012 qualifier against Denmark (7th). However, he is also likely to feature largely in the UEFA Euro U-21 Championships as part of the Iceland side who are in a group with Belarus (11th), Switzerland (14th) and Denmark (18th).

Jannik Vestergaard has again been selected in the provisional Danish U-21's side and just like Sigurdsson is could feature for the Danes as they host the UEFA Euro U-21 Championships from the 11th-25th June. The final decision will be made on 1st June.
