Reaction to match against Hannover 96

1899 Hoffenheim emerged victorious from the Rhein-Neckar-Arena on Sunday evening after a convincing 4-0 win over Hannover 96. Here's what the trainer and players had to say about the game:

Ralf Rangnick (1899 trainer): We played well in the first half and even though we couldn't make the extra man count for most of it, the goal right before half time was golden. In the second half, though, we executed a lot better and used the room more effectively. It's nice that some of the newer players could celebrate a victory too.

Mirko Slomka (Hannover trainer): We created a difficult situation for ourselves and the red card didn't help matters at all. Against a team like Hoffenheim who are incredibly effective against 11 men, with 10 men you stand almost no chance.

Gylfi Sigurdsson (1899 player): I'm incredibly happy with my personal performance, but the three points today are more important. It was without a doubt the best match I have played since I put on the 1899 Hoffenheim kit.

Marvin Compper (1899 player): Of course the red card helped us. The first goal was very fortunate, but if you don't shoot, fortune can never go your way.

Andreas Beck (1899 player): We always need a whole half of football to get into top gear.

Martin Kind (Hannover president): The red card was the first blow and the second was the decider.
