Match reaction against VfB Stuttgart

Hoffenheim fought their way to a hard earned point against VfB Stuttgart on Matchday 15. Here is what the men involved had to say about the match:

Ralf Rangnick:
We saw a truly thrilling match today, which at no point became boring. We were very strong and incisive going forward at the start of the match and after we opened the scoring I hoped we'd continue in the same manner. However, we didn't manage to do that. VfB got themselves back into the game and consequently scored an equaliser. After the red card my primary concern was that we closed the ball down quickly and were willing to run ourselves into the ground. We did that well. Luck was on our side somewhat, but I think a draw is a fair result in the end. Overall I'm very happy with my teams performance.

Jens Keller:
It was difficult for us to get into the game. We won a lot of the ball, but the final pass was lacking accuracy and we constantly found ourselves having to defend the counter attack. After the red card a point is really not enough. In our situation, though, you are always going to be unlucky, especially when the ball comes back off of the inside of the post.

Christian Gentner:
Of course we wanted the three points. The draw today feels like a loss. The team, and in particular me, were unable to find the back of the net. Naturally that's going to be punished.

Ernst Tanner:
We're happy with the point and luck definitely played its' part. We began the match with real determination, but we lacked the killer instinct when it came to finding the second goal. Unfortunately the unjustifiable red card that was shown to Vorsah ruined the match somewhat.
