Daniel Haas extends contract

Daniel Haas has extended his contract with 1899 Hoffenheim until 30.06.2012. His contract was due to run out at the end of the season but the German goalkeeper has signed the dotted line on a new two-year extension.

Haas has been at Hoffenheim since 2005 and is one of only two senior players alongside Sejad Salihovic to have been with 1899 during their incredible journey into the Bundesliga. "Daniel has of course stated that he wants to be playing regularly, which underlines his loyalty to the team considering his current role. We are looking forward to building on both his sporting and human qualities over the next two years," said manager Jan Schindelmeiser. The 26-year-old Haas has played in 22 Bundesliga games during his career so far, 21 for 1899 Hoffenheim and one for Hannover 96, the team from whom he arrived in 2005. This season Haas has stood between the posts three times, but believes better times lie ahead: "I see a positive future for myself at 1899 Hoffenheim and I can only benefit from all the people at the club in terms of my further development."
