1899 players on international duty

During the international break several 1899 Hoffenheim players have been called up to represent their countries giving Ralf Rangnick something extra to worry about over the coming weeks. An overview of the players involved:

Vedad Ibisevic will be part of the Bosnia- Herzegovina team that will face Albania in their Euro 2012 qualification match (8.10., 20:30 in Tirana). Sejad Salihovic misses out following his red card and subsequent suspension.

Josip Simunic is set to represent Croatia when they take on Israel in Group F of the UEFA Euro 2012 qualifiers with both teams joint top of the group on 4 points (9.10., 21:05 in Ramat-Gan). He may also have a part to play during the friendly in Zagreb against Norway (12.10., 20.15)

Gylfi Sigurdsson is part of the Iceland U-21 team who are set to play against Scotland in the play-off stages of the U-21 UEFA Euro qualifying rounds. The first of two matches will take place in Iceland (7.10.) with the return leg being played in Scotland just 4 days later (11.10.). There is also an outside chance that the midfielder could be called up to represent the full Icelandic national side when they play against Portugal (12.10.).

Boris Vukcevic and Peniel Mlapa are part of Rainer Adrion's German U-21 squad who are set to square off with their counterparts from the Ukraine in Unterhaching (11.10., 20:15). Sebastien Rudy failed to win his fitness battle and therefore was not included.

Isaac Vorsah and Prince Tagoe have both been called up to represent Ghana in their African Cup of Nations qualification match against Sudan (10.10., in Accra).

Meanwhile, Demba Ba is in contention as part of Senegal squad who are getting ready to meet Mauritius in the same competition (9.10., 18.30 in Dakar).

Manuel Gulde, Robin Neupert and Marco Terrazzino are set to represent Germany at the U-20 level against Poland in two matches. The first will take place in Heidheim (7.10., 18:15), while the second will see them travel to Leslau, Poland (10.10.) for the second of the two friendlies. For Robert Neupert, this is the first call-up he has received for youth national side.

Denis Thomalla is in the German U-19 squad for the international matches against Andorra in Sandhausen (8.10., 11:00), Northern Ireland in Hoffenheim (10.10., 13:05) and Switzerland in Mannheim (13.10, 17:00).
