Demba Ba reacts against interpretation

“I care a lot about our supporters.“ Striker Demba Ba was irritated following some reports suggesting he moaned about some Hoffenheim fans after the home game against VfL Bochum.

"That is not at all true," Ba said after Sunday's training session. "I was very happy about the fans' support on Saturday. It was great to see them happy for me after my goal." After the final whistle, the striker was asked about jeering coming from the stands during Hoffenheim's last home game against FC Schalke 04. In response to that, Ba said: "Maybe I was misunderstood. If there has been any jeering, I didn't even realize it on the pitch. I don't care about the jeering itself but I do care about our own supporters. I'm very thankful towards them as they have been a great support for me in the last two years. I'm aware that I still have to make up for something after what happened during the summer. I'm convinced, though, that our fans will go on and support me as much as they did before. I'm absolutely committed to 1899 Hoffenheim." For general manager Jan Schindelmeiser, this issue is a "dust speck and not a mountain. There is no sort of conflict between Demba and our supporters at all. Demba was delighted concerning the crowd's reaction and backing. We ourselves are very happy about him having played a very good match. This was the best possible answer to the summer theatre."
